‘No umbrella company can offer more take home than any other, well not if they are operating compliantly! So if it’s an offer of 85% take home, we can probably guess it is a “tax avoidance scheme”. This means you (the agency or contractor) could be at risk of substantial penalties and fines. So if you need to choose an umbrella company, always make sure you speak with them directly. That way you can make sure you know exactly what you are getting. Being employed by an umbrella company is not the same as being employed on a permanent basis.
